Nancy Nix

On the Shaka air waves since 2022 is Nancy Nix (aka Nancy Smith)! Nancy feels she is livin’ the dream as a Shaka 103.1FM radio host, heard on the air mid-mornings through lunch-time, Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm.

In her earlier years, Nancy’s interests were in entertainment; taking acting lessons, acting in school plays, and learning about broadcasting at a Seattle TV station. After graduating from University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Nancy spent over 25 years in a successful career in the advertising industry with responsibilities in sales, marketing & training. In her spare time, Nancy has always enjoyed listening to music and rockin’ out to her favorite bands at live concerts.

Nancy feels blessed to have seen so much of the world traveling…all over the U.S., several times to Africa (including bringing literally a ton of donations to two orphanages in Nairobi, Kenya), has traveled to Australia where she stayed on a cattle ranch, has traveled to several European countries, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Belize, Mexico, and Canada.

Nancy now enjoys working in her business in Līhuʻe, spending time in nature with her hubby and dog, travels a few times a year visiting family and attending concerts, and loves being a rock ‘n roll DJ on Shaka!
